Choose a small starting point
Begin with something you actually want to read, rather than a target to finish an entire book this week. Pick a passage with a complete idea and give it a specific place in your morning. A few pages are easier to plan around than a chapter of uncertain length.
Import your PDF or TXT through Files in FolioTone on iPhone or iPad. If the document is scanned, review the recognized text first. Clean sentences and clear punctuation make a short listening session easier to follow, especially when you are still settling into the day.
Prepare before you need your hands free
Generate the passage while you can keep the app in the foreground. Select a voice that matches its language, listen to a short sample, then prepare the remaining audio. Avoid leaving a long generation task until the moment you need to lock the phone.
Once the audio is complete, play it and lock the screen. If you listen while making tea or getting ready, choose a volume that lets you notice your surroundings. Pause whenever the task in front of you needs more attention than the book.
Leave one question for tomorrow
A listening session does not need to end with extensive notes. Choose one idea you would like to revisit, or write a question in your usual notes app. This keeps a thread of interest available; it is not a test of how much you can remember.
When you return to the PDF, look over the previous passage and find a useful starting point. Listen from the page start or a suitable position. There is no need to generate the whole document again because you stopped before finishing yesterday's passage.
Keep the routine realistic
Gentle, Warm, and Clear English are free voices without a daily character quota. Batch preparation and audio export still have Free limits shown in the app. You can explore a short routine before deciding whether Pro fits the way you read.
Try a few mornings and adjust the length to your schedule. On a busy day, reading a paragraph on screen is also a valid choice. FolioTone offers another way to approach your material; the right amount depends on your attention, time, and circumstances.
TRY IT WITH YOUR OWN WORDS
