Try the included free voices first

Gentle, Warm, and Clear English have no daily character quota on Free. The first two are Vietnamese voices; Clear English is for English text. If these suit the material you normally read, you can begin listening before deciding whether to make a purchase.

A voice without a daily character quota does not make every operation unlimited. Batch preparation, OCR, audio exports, and per-book preferences have Free limits displayed in the app. Read the information for the particular action rather than inferring all entitlements from a voice's label.

Identify the limit you actually meet

The six other Vietnamese voices offer a Free allowance of 3,000 characters of new audio each day. If you regularly choose one of those voices and reach its allowance, that is a concrete difference to consider. Preview it with familiar material before making your decision.

For longer books, your requirement may instead be preparing several pages or exporting more audio than Free allows. Note the exact operation that interrupts your workflow. A specific need is easier to evaluate than a general feeling that regular use must require every feature to be unlocked.

Understand the one-time purchase

FolioTone Pro is a non-consumable, one-time purchase rather than an automatically renewing subscription. It removes the corresponding Free limits described inside the app. Check your local App Store price and purchase details before confirming; another country's displayed price may not match yours.

Pro does not move speech generation to a server or provide a faster speech engine. Generation time still depends on hardware, text length, and device conditions. Preparing new audio also requires the app in the foreground, whether you are using Free or Pro.

Decide after a real reading task

Try a complete task: import a document, select a voice, listen to a passage, and export it if needed. Then review the limits you encountered. If you do not yet need Pro's entitlements, continue with Free and reconsider when your reading requirements change.

Use the appropriate Apple account so that restoring the purchase is straightforward later. Restore Purchases is available in Settings and on the paywall. Restoring Pro restores a purchase entitlement; it does not recover deleted local books or audio. Manage those document copies separately.

TRY IT WITH YOUR OWN WORDS

FolioTone works on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. Voice, OCR and export limits depend on your Free or Pro plan; check the app for current limits.
