Start with a passage that stands on its own
Open Text in FolioTone and create a document with the Vietnamese passage you want to hear. Your own notes, an article you wrote, or an excerpt you have permission to use are good starting points. Give the document a recognizable title so you can find the right version later.
Avoid pasting a complete collection of documents on your first attempt. A short passage containing punctuation, numbers, and a proper name tells you much more about the voice. When copying from a PDF, check the reading order and remove accidental line breaks before generating speech.
Choose a Vietnamese voice by listening
Use a Vietnamese voice for Vietnamese writing. Gentle and Warm are available on Free without a daily character quota. Clear English is intended for English, so it is not a substitute for a different Vietnamese delivery. Select the language first and the voice character second.
Listen for sentence rhythm, names, and abbreviations in your trial passage. The other six Vietnamese voices have a daily Free allowance. A compact test makes it easier to compare them without regenerating an entire long document every time you change your mind about the sound.
Generate and review in manageable parts
Once the passage sounds right, prepare the audio for your document. FolioTone generates speech on the device without sending the text to a speech server. Keep the app in the foreground during generation and let a part finish before deciding whether its reading needs another attempt.
For longer writing, inspect the resulting audio parts rather than judging everything from the first sentence. If a phrase sounds wrong, review its source text. Missing punctuation and words accidentally joined across lines are editing problems that changing the voice alone may not resolve.
Keep a listening copy for later
Completed audio can be played again and exported as WAV or M4A, subject to the limits displayed for your edition. Name the file after its subject and revision date. After exporting, check both the beginning and ending so you know which draft you have saved.
Prepared audio supports playback with the screen locked. Finish generation before leaving the app: background playback does not mean iOS will keep producing new speech in the background. Generation time depends on your device and text length, so prepare a long listening session before you need it.
TRY IT WITH YOUR OWN WORDS
