Locate a repeatable problem before changing anything

Note the point where the audio sounds wrong and play the same passage again. If it always happens in one sentence, inspect the text at that location. If interruptions appear at different points on different attempts, also check the playback route and whether the audio part has completed preparation.

Do not change the voice, wording, headphones, and export format simultaneously. Adjust one element at a time while using the same sample for comparison. This cannot promise a solution to every issue, but it produces more useful evidence than a broad conclusion that the entire voice sounds unreliable or broken.

Look for places where the source loses its meaning

PDF extraction can interrupt a sentence through columns, line breaks, repeated headers, or tables read in an unsuitable order. OCR may omit a word or punctuation in scanned material. Inspect the actual text FolioTone uses for generation, rather than relying only on the polished appearance of the original PDF page.

Correct a small affected passage and generate it again with the same voice. Make abbreviations, unusual characters, and words split across lines clearer in the listening draft. Retain an unchanged original so a correction intended to improve the reading does not quietly become an unintended alteration of the document’s factual content.

Compare the same completed recording across players

Wait until the audio part finishes before judging playback. If possible, try the device speaker and your headphones with that same prepared recording. If the interruption occurs only through one playback route, include that observation when describing the issue rather than assuming it must be a text or model problem.

After exporting a WAV or M4A, open it from Files or your usual player and compare the same moment with playback inside FolioTone. An identical interruption at the same position may require checking the source recording. A problem limited to an external player needs a different description and a different set of checks.

Keep a small example that demonstrates the behavior

Prepare a few sentences that reproduce the issue, note the voice, and write down your steps. Include your device model, iOS version, and FolioTone version when contacting support. A short, non-private sample is preferable to sending a personal book when both demonstrate the same behavior clearly enough for investigation.

While checking, preserve parts that already sound correct and retry the affected part using the controls available in the app. Prepare and review long listening sessions early. Checking sections in advance avoids discovering a missing passage after you have already locked the screen and left home with your phone in your pocket.
