Export audio that has actually finished

Open the document or audio task you want to keep and inspect its parts. If a section is still generating, wait before treating the export as a complete copy. A file named after a whole chapter but containing only your trial paragraph is easy to mistake for the finished recording later.

Listen to the opening and ending of the section you plan to save. If you edited the source after an earlier generation attempt, confirm that the audio belongs to the right revision. A meaningful revision name is more useful than several identical filenames you can distinguish only by their creation times.

Choose a format and destination deliberately

FolioTone offers WAV and M4A export within the permissions and limits displayed in the app. Match the format to the next step: consider file size for a listening copy and the receiving tool’s requirements for further editing. Decide before exporting a large collection that may be inconvenient to move afterward.

When iOS presents its share sheet, choose an appropriate saving action, such as saving to Files if that option is available. Pick a recognizable folder and reread the filename before confirming. Share sheet destinations depend on the applications and services configured on your device rather than on one fixed list.

Distinguish local storage from another service

A Files location may belong to the device or to a cloud provider. If your intention is to keep the recording on the phone, check the selected destination. On-device speech generation does not make every external destination you voluntarily choose in the share sheet local storage as well.

If you select a cloud service, its syncing and later downloading follow that provider’s behavior. Do not delete your checked copy merely because a filename appears at the destination. Open the saved recording and make sure the transfer or save operation has completed before clearing the source audio from the app.

Reopen it the same way a recipient would

Open Files, navigate to your chosen folder, and play the exported copy there. Check the filename, duration, and content again. For several parts, use a consistent sequence such as 01, 02, and 03 so another listener does not have to guess how the recordings should be arranged.

Retain the source until you have verified the saved file is complete. Renaming your local copy after sharing does not rename a file someone already received. A simple, repeatable saving habit is more useful than scattered copies spread across several folders with no clear indication of which version is final.
