Pause long enough to identify the current version
When audio has not finished, note the document, voice, and passage being prepared. If you want to stop, use the task’s cancel control where available and allow its status to update. Avoid editing the source, changing voices, and launching repeated attempts together while trying to work out which recording you are hearing.
Keep a copy of important source text before experimenting. Canceling speech generation does not mean a file has been exported or that a section is complete. Inspect the actual parts list to distinguish recordings ready for playback from the portion of the task that remains unfinished or needs another attempt.
Rule out conditions you can readily check
Bring FolioTone into the foreground and check free storage on the device. Creating new speech requires the app to remain in the foreground on iOS. If you previously locked the screen or moved to another application, record that context when investigating why preparation did not reach its expected end.
Read the message shown in the app and any Free limits for the action you selected. An export or batch preparation limit is different from a speech generation failure. Upgrading to Pro is not a universal repair for errors because both editions use the same underlying speech generation technology.
Try a small, repeatable passage
Select a few sentences around the difficult point, keep the same voice, and generate a fresh sample. If that succeeds, inspect the longer source for unusual characters, incorrectly joined lines, or hard-to-read passages. Correct something you can identify instead of removing arbitrary pieces of the original document in the hope of improvement.
For a retried part, listen to its beginning and ending while checking the text. The presence of sound alone does not establish completeness. If the problem repeats at one sentence, keep that sentence as a troubleshooting sample; a compact example usually explains the issue more clearly than an entire lengthy book.
Report useful context when the problem repeats
Record the FolioTone version, iOS version, device model, chosen voice, and steps leading to the issue. Distinguish generation from playback of completed audio. Whenever possible, reproduce the behavior with a passage that contains no private information rather than sending a personal document solely to demonstrate the problem.
Export only sections that have finished and passed a listening check. Prepare an important listening session early enough to resolve troublesome parts. Playback with the screen locked is a benefit of already prepared audio, rather than evidence that every new generation task will continue running in the background.
TRY IT WITH YOUR OWN WORDS
